FiRa Consortium
The FiRa Consortium is a member-driven organisation dedicated to transforming the way we interact with our environment by exploiting the secure, precise positioning capabilities of ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, giving people and devices precise location awareness. FiRa ensures interoperability between different chips, devices and solutions by advancing technical specifications and certification, advocating effective regulation, and defining a broad set of UWB use cases.
Core Specification 2.0
FiRa has successfully released version 2.0 of its core technical and test specifications, supporting three new use cases: indoor navigation, finding a person or an object, and point-and-touch control of smart home devices.
Certification Program 2.0
FiRa announced an expanded Certification Program 2.0, giving FiRa members the ability to develop UWB products that support the new use cases, and driving adoption of UWB technology.
Corporate members
Globally advanced electronics and semiconductor manufacturers such as Apple, Cisco, Google and Huawei, as well as leading laboratories and academic institutions.
Strategic alliances
FiRa has established a strategic alliance with the CCC (Car Connectivity Consortium) to ensure seamless interoperability and scalability of the cutting-edge UWB technology developed for the CCC Digital Key.
